Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. MedComms Networking - 18 April 2023

    Hi

As you may have noticed, we will celebrate another Day in the Life of MedComms on #MedComms Day 14 June 2023. This event has run every year since 2011 and provided lots of fun along the way. It's primarily a social media exercise to make as much positive #MedComms noise as we can, between us. There are no rules. We just want to see a celebration of what we do. As usual we will start with the sun rising in New Zealand and finish with it setting over San Francisco. Follow #MedComms on your favourite social media platform and join in. At the very least, shout out "Happy #MedComms Day" on 14 June, and ideally share photos and news of what you are up to on the day.

We hope many individuals and organisations, from across the global community, will run their own activities. If you are a member of any relevant networking group or community, simply use it as an excuse to do something and cheer for #MedComms.

It won't take many of us doing something, however formally or informally, and shouting about it using hashtag #MedComms, to catalyse others into action on the day. That way we all win. Drawing attention to the work we all do. Highlighting the vast array of specialist initiatives. And garnering a terrific sense of community.

So, mark it in your diaries, tell all relevant others, and plan to join in however you like. Hopefully we'll see plenty of creative approaches again.

Before then, we've lots more planned.

I'm particularly pleased to be planning much more this year for the wannabes. Not only online via the FirstMedCommsJob.com services, but importantly in person. Birmingham University are hosting an in-person event on 22 June. Please tell all the wannabes you know, however you know them. It's a unique opportunity for them to get up close and personal with MedComms specialists and to ask all the questions they want answers to.

Oh, and here's a heads up. It will take a little while to get things sorted, but planning is now well underway for the next Working in and around #MedComms event. Make a diary date. We'll be back at Heathrow on 25 September 2023. Help make it even bigger and better than last year! All ideas welcomed. Keep an eye out for developments or just give me a shout at any time if you have any questions.

Meanwhile we've more great webinars for you!

Tomorrow, multi award-winning patient engagement consultant and advocate Trishna Bharadia joins me for a wide-ranging conversation encompassing publications, diversity and inclusion, good patient engagement practice and advocacy activities. Everyone's welcome.

Next week we talk about Omnichannel and Content Creation with the team from AMICULUM. Then we've a couple of weeks exploring AI in more depth. Hear about Real-world applications for MedComms with Camino Communications and then Effective Prompt Engineering and Practical Applications with Katja Martin. Please join us. Everyone's always welcome

There's lots more coming. Stay well, everyone.

    Cheers
