MedComms Networking - 28 May 2024
Hi
I'm delighted that once again, #MedComms Day will start with an online meeting from the Asia-Pacific MedComms Network. "Factors for determining the impact of publications in the Asia-Pacific region" is open to everyone. Kudos Jonathan Lee, Blair Hesp and Steven Inglis for leading that discussion. Join them at 08:30-09:30 (Beijing/Singapore) 09:30-10:30 (Tokyo) 11:30-12:30 (Melbourne/Sydney) 13:30-14:30 (Auckland).
What else?
Any freelancers out there? Join The (Online) Great MedComms Workbook Bake Off at 10.30 UK time. Bring cake!
Our regular #MedComms webinar is open to everyone at 12.00 Midday UK time, of course. It should be a good one. In "New approaches for a new era in medcomms" we'll meet Founding Directors who have recently stepped outside the major networks to launch their own agencies, each with the intention of reshaping the MedComms landscape in uniquely distinct ways. Join Elena Mills (The Salve Health), James Turnbull (Camino) and Anne Clare Wadsworth (Amica Scientific) for a lively chat.
Tickets for the online Festival of #MedComms: A networking and careers event for professionals in healthcare communications at 13.00 UK time have now nearly all gone. Meet the talent acquisition teams from Avalere Health, Costello Medical, inScience Communications, IPG Health Medical Communications and performance-io as well as representatives from pobl., PharmiWeb and Word Monster.
These days, #MedComms Day is largely a social media event using hashtag #MedComms and none of us knows quite what will happen until the day. That's part of the fun. The more variety and surprises the better. Be creative. But details of any special activities I hear about will be added at MedCommsDay.com, so please let me know your plans.
Here's news of some other relevant upcoming activities I've spotted that might be also of interest to members of this community...
Freelance medical writers, we're nearly half way through 2024. How's it going? This LinkedIn poll from Vicky Sherwood, are you currently facing challenges in finding business? has attracted nearly 200 votes so far.
I'm a firm believer that our industry is being disrupted now, for good. New thinking. New technology. New language. New opportunities. New Communities? Have you joined the Digital Pharma Unlocked community yet? There are lots of disruptors in there. Their in-person Summer Social is 11 July in central London. Will I see you there?
At last month's 2024 ISMPP Annual Meeting #ISMPPAnnual2024 there was lots of chatter about AI. The ISMPP AI Task Force has now shared an example of the use of #AI to create a video summary of its plenary session using avatars. Is this a flavour of what's to come?
Meanwhile, don't forget in tomorrow's #MedComms webinar we will talk about Setting Standards in Healthcare Content Creation with Sophie Randall, Dan Wills and Virginia Chachati from Patient Information Forum (PIF). Please join us!
What else have you seen? Share the details using hashtag #MedComms on LinkedIn.
