    MedComms Networking - 23 May 2023

    Hi

First, a big shout out to Rick Flemming for bringing Aspire Scientific on board yesterday as a new Sponsor for all this free MedComms Networking activity. Without the support of our Sponsors, none of this could happen in the way it does. Kudos to them.

    And there is lots happening.

The #MedComms webinars are reaching parts and people all across the world. Last week I was joined by Avantika Deo (from India), Mayako Ikeda (from Japan), Hamish McDougall (from the UK) and Krista Storm (from the USA). And the audience were likewise distributed across time zones. We talked about sponsored supplements as a tool to drive medical content engagement and how, while less popular than they were a decade ago, recent publishing innovations and publishing extenders have fuelled interest in a new wave of sponsored collections and supplements as tool to bundle content together and drive engagement. The recording is freely available to view at NetworkPharma.tv, of course, or you may like to read this useful summary posted on LinkedIn by Cathryn Berry (from Australia), entitled "Not your mother's sponsored supplements".

Tomorrow we are having some fun, talking about Practicalities and Pitfalls in Running Medical Events with Alistair Barton (SWM Partners), Gavin Clark (Remote Solutions), Dermott Madden (Vevox) and Ritika Sharma (SWM Partners). I'm hoping for plenty of insightful stories and practical tips learnt from their many years of experience 'at the coal-face'. Please join us. Everyone's welcome

Meanwhile I noticed that a LinkedIn survey from Harry Brooker this week is attracting lots of votes, Has med comms/healthcare comms lost it's culture /vibe/energy over the last 24 months?. I hope not. #MedComms Day is coming up on 14 June 2023. Make it a date and let's show we've still got it. Some activities to join are listed at MedCommsDay.com. Let me know what else you are doing.

Importantly, for the aspiring MedComms specialists, there are two great events to join on #MedComms Day.

Monster Academy invite you into their unique 2D online event space to learn more about the Monster Academy training programme and about how to break into MedComms. Registration now open.

Later in the day, AMICULUM invite you into their online space for "A spotlight on careers in #MedComms", a virtual event where industry professionals will provide valuable insights about careers in healthcare communications. Register here.

All great fun! Please help spread the word.

There's lots more happening. Stay well, everyone.

    Cheers
