It's a wrap! Well, nearly. It's been another long year. I'll be around throughout the holiday period if I can help, but we're now taking a short rest from non-stop webinars, newsletters and more. Thanks everyone for your support throughout. As always, I'd welcome feedback and any thoughts about what more we can do.
Importantly, a huge "THANKS" goes to the Sponsors of the #MedComms activity because, frankly, without them none of this would be possible. Kudos. One thing we can all agree; we can't be sure of what's coming in the year ahead...
In January of this year, we were joined on an EXTRA #MedComms webinar by Martin Delahunty (Inspiring STEM Consulting), Katja Martin (medtextpert), Stephen Mott (PharmAdvisor) and Avishek Pal (Novartis) for an informal discussion about the possible implementations of a brand new AI tool, ChatGPT, within and around MedComms. It's fair to say we had little idea at the time of the rapid development and the excitement that was coming. There has certainly been a great deal of discussion about using AI generally, and generative AI in particular, in MedComms in the 12 months since.
So, make a diary note. On 18 January 2024, we will reconvene the same panel for another EXTRA #MedComms webinar to reflect on progress in these past 12 months and to discuss what is actually happening in the real world. What stage are we now at on the hype cycle for new technologies? Inflated expectations? Disillusionment? Enlightenment? Enhanced Productivity? Please join the discussion. Everyone's welcome. Please help spread the word and encourage all relevant others to join us.
We'll then continue our regular Wednesday #MedComms webinars and we've some great topics and speakers lining up. Keep an eye on MedCommsNetworking.com over the coming days. as I start adding in the various details or give me a shout directly if you have any questions. If you have ideas for topics or speakers, then I'm always looking for volunteers!

We're not quite finished with 2023, though. On Thursday, we've our annual end of year huddle for #MedComms Freelancers and guests. Primarily intended for subscribers to the MedComms Workbook service, but, in the spirit of the moment, any other freelancers and interested parties are welcome to join us and raise a glass to wish ourselves a good 2023. Silly seasonal hats and/or jumpers are a must. I find my fun where I can! Meanwhile, I'm sure there will be plenty of other lunches and end of year celebrations across our community this week so stay safe everyone and enjoy yourselves.
Bring on 2024!
