MedComms Networking - 12 March 2024
Hi
Oh look! Now more than 600 videos on NetworkPharma.tv - take that, Netflix! My aim is 1,000 before I run out of stamina. I'd love to include more videos from third parties. If you have relevant content to share with the global #MedComms community, please let me know. We have some good examples, like the recordings of the Real World Evidence webinars from Vitaccess or the presentations from the Good CME Practice Group, but there must be more. Let me know about any relevant recordings you know of. They just need to be openly available and shareable.
Last week's webinar provided another great excuse to gather your team, share some cake, and debate amongst yourselves. Joe Hance, Jon Hume and Philippa Pristera from Cuttsy+Cuttsy explained how they developed their approach to using AI, their promise to clients and how they are supporting the use of AI by staff within their agency. Good honest, open, helpful insights for all. Kudos. Watch the recording on NetworkPharma.tv
One point was made that I thought was interesting. Using AI brings with it an impact on sustainable working practices within agencies and some very onerous agreements are now routinely being signed with clients that define those. Here's some numbers to think about, Gen AI's Environmental Ledger: A Closer Look at the Carbon Footprint of ChatGPT.
This week, two free #MedComms webinars will explore very different approaches to AI.
On Wednesday 13 March Zayed Yasin and Sam Pitkeathly from Writer will talk about Transforming the way Healthcare Businesses Communicate using Enterprise-Level Generative AI.
And on Thursday 14 March we'll run another EXTRA #MedComms webinar. Kudos to Tania Sultana (medical writer) and Mario Morel (digital teamwork specialist) from Foremost Medical Communications for agreeing to demonstrate live and exploring the benefits as well as the challenges for individual medical writers of using Microsoft's Copilot.
Meanwhile, here's some news of other relevant activities I've spotted that might be of interest...
Nuria Negrao, Medical Writer in CME, ran an interesting LinkedIn Live session a few days ago, and the recording is now available. See Learn AI with Nuria in which she demonstrates her use of some AI tools.
Chris Wade of Exeevo and Pierre Metrailler of SpotMe are running what should be a useful online meeting on 19 March, Why a CRM Matters for HCP Events
The new Society for Artificial Intelligence & Health is launching with an online meeting on 26 March, Generative AI's Impact on Authoring Medical Research.
Raghuraj Puthige of Enago Life Sciences has asked me to pass on word about a survey they are currently running, please join in with your comments at GPP2022 - Where Are We Now? Perspectives, Sentiments, and Feedback from the Publication Professional Community
Stay well, everyone. There's lots more coming.
P.S. Our next in-person FirstMedCommsJob event for entry-level jobseekers is at Manchester University next week, on Thursday 21 March. Please help spread the word amongst any relevant wannabes. Let them know there will be lots of free cake! Thanks.
Cheers
