    WEEKLY COMMENT

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 05 September 2023

    Hi

So, how was your August? I took a breather. Of sorts. No weekly newsletters. Did anyone notice?

Frankly, I'm not feeling very rested. I've been working on our next big in-person event, Working in and around #MedComms at Heathrow on 25 September 2023. Are you joining us? Everyone's welcome and if it's half as good as last year it will be great! It's going to be worth making a full day of it. Start with early morning coffee and pastries and stay for evening drinks at the free bar!

It's simply unlike anything else in our sector and we're going to have some fun. And change some lives, again.

We're expecting hundreds to attend and, importantly, many more can access information online, about MedComms and about the organisations and individuals in our community, by visiting the wealth of content that's freely available at NetworkPharma.careers.

It's free to attend for entry-level jobseekers, so please tell any wannabes you know and follow the action using hashtag #MedComms on your own favourite social media platforms. Join in. The more noise we all make about #MedComms the better for everyone.

Whether you can join us or not on the day, you can watch recordings of these recent FirstMedCommsJob webinars at any time, from anywhere and hear from some of those who will be attending at Heathrow.

  • Aspirations: real-life experience in medical writing [View the recording from 23 August]
  • Preparing for success in your medical writing tests and more [View the recording from 17 August]
  • Are MedComms workplaces working for everyone? [View the recording from 15 August]
  • Making your medical degree count in MedComms [View the recording from 10 August]
  • Getting interview-ready - top tips for MedComms jobseekers [View the recording from 02 August]

  • We've another FirstMedCommsJob webinar this Thursday, Every medical writer matters: Elevating MedComms with Monster-level Training and one more next Wednesday, Career opportunities in healthcare SEO: breaking the mould of traditional MedComms before we all meet in person at Heathrow.

I'm also having fun posting some more #MedComms Stories. We all have a different story to tell.

After training as a medical doctor, Jasmine Morton left clinical medicine behind her and is now working as a Medical Writer with NexGen Healthcare Communications. Watch the interview here.

After several years in more traditional medical writing roles, Tom Harrrison is now Content Account Director at performance-io, a pure-play specialist SEO agency in healthcare and pharma. Watch the interview here.

Watch out for more #MedComms Stories coming this week.

Looking ahead, and beyond the Heathrow event, we'll soon be back to our weekly #MedComms webinars. Will I make it to Christmas? We've already got some great guests lined up. Details are always bang up-to-date at MedCommsNetworking.com. Please let me know any suggestions for topics or speakers or if you'd like to join me on a webinar.

It's a busy time ahead. Stay well, everyone.

P.S. Please complete our quick MedComms Forum HR Survey. It really will help inform future developments. Thank you.

    Cheers
