MedComms Networking - 04 April 2023
Hi
This week we start the new financial year for #MedComms Networking activity. So here's a big shout out to our Sponsors! Without them, none of all this could happen. Thank you. There's something for everyone at MedCommsNetworking.com - and with everyone's help there will be lots more coming. If you appreciate that support, show them some love here on LinkedIn and help spread the #MedComms word a little more...
We also have a new partnership to celebrate with Mark Denton, Holly Haynes, Sebastian Hall, Hannah Leeper and Madison Massey and the team of specialist Recruiters at Zenopa. This exciting new partnership promises more support for those aspiring to join our specialist MedComms business. Additional tools and connections will provide those already working in and around MedComms with what they need throughout their career to ensure they truly excel within the industry.
There's also support this year from Copyright Clearance Centre (if you missed their webinar last month then watch their free recording, Addressing Common Reuse Questions in Medical Communications) and G-Med, the 1.5 million global physician-only community. Ilan Ben Ezri, Co-Founder and CEO of G-Med along with Medical Advisor April Chan joined Len Starnes on our webinar last month about Medical Society Conferences and shared their recent survey data. Watch the free recording here. There's lots more we can do together.
Many others help in different ways along the way. If you'd like to be involved give me a shout, anytime. I'm particularly keen to hear from volunteers for the regular Wednesday #MedComms webinars!
Talking of which, tomorrow's, AI tools for medical writers - turkeys voting for Christmas?, is proving a big draw. We'll hear from Lisa Chamberlain James, Barry Drees and Jamie Norman from Trilogy Writing & Consulting. Please join us. Sceptics and believers!
Here's something to play with over your next coffee break. Use ChatGPT to summarise a book, article, or research paper. In the chat box, type in TLDR: followed by the link to your article. TLDR stands for "too long, didn't read". Add your thoughts to this #MedComms LinkedIn discussion. And please share any tips and tricks that you've seen (when playing remember all the caveats; AI tools aren't perfect, may hallucinate etc but think about how this is the worst they'll ever be).
What about domain-specific", dedicated services like BioGPT? Any thoughts on pharmaphorum's article last week, BioGPT: A game-changer for pharma and healthcare?
Finally, a new initiative. We've talked for a while about a MedComms HR Forum. Who would like to join us for an inaugural meeting, 15 May in Oxford? Quite what defines HR team members in different companies is somewhat open to interpretation, and a mix of perspectives will be important, but the HR focus will be kept clear. I want the programme to be as open as possible at this stage and dictated by who comes along to then define how we develop the initiative going forwards. Please tell all relevant others.
There's lots more coming. Stay well, everyone.
Cheers
