MedComms Networking - 07 March 2023
Hi
This week some of us are using National Careers Week #NCW2023 here in the UK as an excuse to make some noise online about careers in and around #MedComms. Please join in and encourage your colleagues to do likewise, on your favourite social media platforms. Share your #MedComms stories and highlight the variety of career opportunities in and around #MedComms. Shout about how great it is to work for your company! We all win by attracting more top talent into our business.
Use hashtags #NCW2023 and #MedComms together and maybe we'll start trending.
I'm running several webinars this week. Everyone's welcome.
We started, yesterday, with a fascinating insight into the recruitment of entry-level writers, with Lesley Jacques, Deborah Stanford, Jess Buxton and Pete Griffiths of Bioscript Group. Kudos to them for sharing such granular data. Their latest cohort of eight Pioneers in the UK (their entry-level medical writers) were selected from 333 applicants. Who applied, who made it through - and why? The recording is now freely available to all. Feedback and comment welcomed. It would be fascinating to know how these results compare with what happens in other companies. Anyone willing to share? Maybe add some thoughts to this LinkedIn discussion.
Still to come this week...
Tomorrow, Wednesday - The four-day working week (4DWW) in MedComms. Synergy Vision will talk to us about how the 4DWW works in the real world, with an honest look at the benefits and challenges it's presented for the company, the employee-owners and their clients.
Thursday - Meet the Medical Writers and the Account Managers. NOTE one webinar, two sessions. Join us for one or other or both. Meet representatives from AMICULUM, Ashfield MedComms, Fishawack Health, Helios Global Group, IPG Health Medical, Lucid Group and Oxford PharmaGenesis.
Along the way I'm having fun recording and releasing more #MedComms Stories at NetworkPharma.tv. So far this week (more are coming)...
Anna-Maria Dimitrova, Digital Events Project Manager at AMICULUM
Phillip Chapman, Associate Scientific Director at Fishawack Health
Dee Parker, Group Account Director, and Enitan Sawyerr, Senior Scientific Director, at Synergy Medical
Sophie Taylor, Account Manager at Caudex, an IPG Health Company
Mariona Sumarroca, Medical Writer, and Laura Redman, Senior Account Manager, at Bedrock Healthcare Communications.
Jeremy Williams, Global Director at Healthcare Consultancy Group
You'll also find them available as audio podcasts at PodBean and Spotify.
#MedComms is booming! Let's share the news and attract that future talent.
Back to business-as-usual next week. Len Starnes has agreed to join us for next week's #MedComms webinar, Medical Society Conferences: What we predicted and what we think is happening. Len will be joined by Ilan Ben Ezri and April Chan, from G-Med, the 1.5 million global physician-only community, which reaches physicians from more than 160 countries, in over 100 specialties and subspecialties. Between them, they have a wealth of insight into what is actually happening and what physicians are looking for in practice. Spread the word.
There's lots more coming. Stay well, everyone. Keep the discussions going, using #MedComms.
Cheers
Peter Llewellyn
