MedComms Networking - 06 June 2023
Hi
Last week's webinar was interesting. I wonder how many of us think enough, early enough, about translating content and opening up access, in particularly to patients. Specialists Carrie Brubaker (Independent Consultant, Medical Affairs & Communications Strategy), Amanda Ryan (President, G3 Life Sciences) and Helen Williams (Founder, The Word Desk) were clear that we don't! The recording is well worth watching and freely available to all at NetworkPharma.tv, as always.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, we'll talk about the role of MedComms in creating impactful online education courses for healthcare with Debbie Cockayne (Founder and Managing Director at Page Medical Communications), Christina Melidou (Healthcare Partnerships Manager at Future Learn) and April Chan (Medical Advisor to G-Med).
Importantly, on Thursday we have a FirstMedCommsJob Webinar, Aligning company and individual values - the Lucid Group value transformation with Olivia Emirali, Henry Litchfield and Nigel Horn. Everyone's welcome
But then, hold on to your hats for next week. #MedComms Day 2023 is Wednesday 14 June.
If nothing else, make a diary note now to shout out "Happy #MedComms Day!" from wherever in the world you are on the day and add a photo or two. Word on the street, though, is that some MedComms folks have a lot more planned for us. Have fun with it.
There are free events to join throughout the day, including our own #MedComms webinar, MedComms: Future directions with Annette Keith (Head of Editorial at Langland), Gary Lyons (Head of Strategy and Excellence at Fishawack Health) and Jane Smith (Director at AMICULUM).
See MedCommsDay.com for more details, though, and you'll find that...
The Asia Pacific MedComms Network is running Open Access: How the evolving policy landscape is changing research publishing
Word Monster is running a one-of-a-kind, free, digital event focused on the medical communications industry and how to break into it.
ISMPP have opened up free access to their webinar, Creating Systematic Reviews from Real World Evidence (RWE) Using AI and NLP: What Publication Planners Need to Know
Ambit is hosting "A spotlight on careers in #MedComms", a virtual event where industry professionals will provide valuable insights into the world of healthcare communications.
And I'll run our now traditional MedComms Workbook Huddle for freelancers at wine o'clock, UK time.
That's just what I can share. I understand there is more. Much more.
Follow hashtag #MedComms on your favourite social platform for updates (I'm sure LinkedIn and Twitter will be particularly busy, but we might get a TikTok dance or two if we're lucky!), from when the sun rises in New Zealand until it sets over San Francisco.
All great fun! Please help spread the word.
Importantly, though, a final shout out here to anyone working in and around #MedComms in the UK. If you haven't yet completed Zenopa's Healthcare Communication's Talent Insight Survey (UK) 2023, then please do so before this Friday, 09 June. Hundreds of responses already, but we want more. The results will be freely available to everyone. Please pass word on.
There's lots more happening. Stay well, everyone.
Cheers
