The first MedComms Rounders Tournament and Family Fun Day took place at the
AZ leisure club in Cheshire on a warm, mostly sunny day, and was attended by
an enthusiastic crowd of around 100 players, supporters and children.
The tournament included two teams from the Complete Medical Group Worldwide, two teams
from Athena Meetings and Events, and one team each from Fishawack,
KnowledgePoint360 Group. Nucleus Group, and Quanticate. The tournament was lots of
fun and relaxed, but with the competitiveness that you would expect from
different agencies playing against each other!
While play got underway, children enjoyed free entertainment in the form of
a bouncy castle, slide, face painting, balloon modelling and a
representative from Lunartics with lots of freebies (www.lunartics.com).
Supporters and players waiting for their next game also enjoyed the
complimentary BBQ, drinks from the bar, and the rarity of sitting in
sunshine in Cheshire!.
Ultimately, the tournament was won by the Complete Medical Group Worldwide, with
another team from the same company coming second. A play-off determined that
the Nucleus Group were third and KnowledgePoint360 were fourth. The
tournament ended with a presentation of trophies to the Winners and
Runners-up.
After the success of the day, it is envisaged that this will become an
annual event, with ambitions to make next year's tournament even bigger and
better. There may also be a similar event held in the South of England.
Finally, thanks go to the sponsors for making the 2011 event possible: aps
events & media, Complete Medical Group Worldwide, KnowledgePoint360 Group,
Nucleus Group and Oxfordshire Print.
