MedComms Networking - 28 June 2022
Hi
Did you join in last week with #MedComms Day 2022? It was a tad strange after 10 years, not to be running it, but at least I got some sleep this time! Kudos to all involved. If you take a look at Twitter and LinkedIn in particular, you'll find there was plenty of lively activity from across the community.
During the day AMICULUM, Langland and Oxford PharmaGenesis hosted a virtual event where attendees could network with medcomms professionals, seek careers advice from agency HR/recruitment teams, discuss hot topics, and learn more about the industry as a whole. The event included a 30 minute Question and Answer session hosted by Maureen Reid (Oxford PharmaGenesis). On the panel were Annette Keith (Langland), Ben Church (Oxford PharmaGenesis) and Yumiko Abeynayake (Mudskipper, part of AMICULUM). The recording of that panel discussion is now freely available for everyone to view on NetworkPharma.tv and it's also available at FirstMedCommsJob.com.
I'm always happy to include third party videos at NetworkPharma.tv (indeed, also at FirstMedCommsJob.com) so let me know of any relevant content that can be shared. We're on our way to 500 videos at NetworkPharma.tv now, so there's lots of good content for you to access for free. At anytime. From anywhere. There could be much more.
Hopefully, we'll generate more content over the coming weeks, for wannabes and others, as we build up to the big new careers event at Heathrow, Working in and around #MedComms, on 19 September. Follow hashtag #MedComms and help spread the word.
Yesterday, IQVIA confirmed they are joining in - thanks to Anita Seaford for helping make that happen. We've nearly reached the target of 30 employers for the main exhibition hall. We've nearly got our first hundred registered delegates. We've nearly got a core agenda sorted and a bunch of employers have nearly sorted plans for their own activities alongside. So, I guess, we're nearly there! It will be unlike anything we've seen before in our sector and, hopefully, lots of fun. We want as many people there on the day as possible, so help spread the word and join us yourselves. Everyone's welcome. It's free. Details are being kept bang up-to-date at NetworkPharma.careers. All ideas and feedback welcomed.
We should be proud of how #MedComms businesses have evolved over recent years. There are many great opportunities for new entrants. We should continue to celebrate our community. The event on 19 September gives us another huge opportunity to fly the flag for everyone. Please join in. Make it loud.
There's lots more happening, besides, online and onsite. Join us online tomorrow, Wednesday 29 June to hear about Blended learning at Lucid Group and next week we'll hear how the Development Directors at McCann Health Medical Communications support their FuEL program participants. If you are freelancing or aspiring to do so, join us if you can in-person at Alderley Park on 11 July for Making a success of freelancing in MedComms.
So much to do, so little time! Stay well everyone.
Cheers
