MedComms Networking - 23 March 2021
Hi
So, today, as I write this we are marking a year of lockdowns here in the UK.
It's been a long year and all of us still have a long way to go.
Maybe we should just pause and take the moment.
The pharmaceutical industry has, frankly, done some quite remarkable stuff in the past year. And the global #MedComms business is thriving by supporting it. I believe much of what we do and how we do it has changed for good and, maybe, for the better. But for now, mostly, we just have to keep going. And we should acknowledge the severe challenges for many others around us.
Tomorrow's free #MedComms webinar is Insights into medical communications during the COVID pandemic: The independent agency perspective. I'll be joined by Su Allen (Scientific Adviser), Amber Fensome (Director), Lindsey Pritchard (Account Director) and Lisa White (Senior Account Director), all of Highfield. They will share a few considerations and insightful cases based on their ethos at Highfield. First there was Brexit now there is COVID-19. With a nimble approach to driving insightful and experience-led communications, Highfield believe they have been well-placed to navigate these challenges and build a robust working model with exciting programmes. And we'll answer questions from the audience. Please join us. Everyone's welcome.
And next week, on Wednesday 31 March, I'll be in conversation with the medical writers about their current day-to-day working life. I'll be joined by Cassidy Fiford (Medical Writer, Oxford PharmaGenesis) and Danny Hawker (Senior Medical Writer, Ashfield MedComms). Both panellists have been profiled in the new issue of our annual FirstMedCommsJob careers guide, "From academic to medical writer: a guide to getting started in medical communications", published in March 2021. Please join us. Everyone's welcome.
For now, take the moment. Stay well and keep an eye out for each other.
There's lots more coming. Give me a shout at any time if you've any questions, comments or suggestions.
Cheers
