    WEEKLY COMMENT

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 20 September 2022

    Hi

After a flurry of intense activity last week, I'm delighted to confirm the huge amount of effort over the past few weeks wasn't lost in light of the Queen's funeral. We've rescheduled our unique event, Working in and around #MedComms. It will now take place at Heathrow on 10 November 2022. Obviously there will be some disruption, after not running it yesterday, but it appears most of the programme content and exhibitors can transfer to the new date. Many thanks to everyone for their support.

Give us a few days to double check and re-confirm with all involved, but it's currently looking good. The web site at NetworkPharma.careers is being updated to reflect the new details and will again be kept bang up-to-date. You'll start seeing announcements and social media commentary switching back on over the coming days. Please join in the conversation using hashtag #MedComms and encourage anyone who would like to know more about career opportunities in and around MedComms to join us on the day.

We provide lots of information online, but meeting the people really does make the difference for jobseekers. And there were going to be lots of us there yesterday. There's no reason we can't muster those numbers again for 10 November, but your help would be appreciated in helping spread the word.

If you had signed up for the original date, you will have to register again. If there are any questions or comments about what we are doing, please give me a shout at any time. I'm always happy to chat, as always.

    Meanwhile...

Last week, the Good CME Practice Group ran an interesting 30-minute webinar, Current challenges in CME. You will find the recording at NetworkPharma.tv. I thought some of what Sophie Wilson for instance had to say about current expectations amongst funders, and about attendance at F2F events post-pandemic and how activities would have to change, particularly insightful.

You should all be dialling in tomorrow, Wednesday 21 September, to listen to the "Introducing GPP 2022" webinar, hearing from the GPP4 Steering Committee and ISMPP about the process of developing the document as well as the principles contained within. However, registrations have already hit the 1,000 maximum, so you might struggle to get in. The recording should be available, though, to view on Friday.
Keep an eye on this page here.

Numbers are also exceeding expectations for the fully virtual Getting into Medical Writing open session from EMWA on Friday, 23 September. As I understand it, there are still spaces at that one. There won't be a recording, so it is worth joining us live. I'm on the panel about networking opportunities, but there are plenty more interesting folks involved as well!

P.S. We start our own weekly #MedComms webinars again on Wednesday 5 October, with Fishawack Health talking about how to embed inclusion and diversity into everyday work practices in MedComms. Join us. Spread the word. Everyone's welcome.

There's lots more coming. Stay well, everyone.

    Cheers
