MedComms Networking - 07 December 2021
Hi
The end of the year is in sight! And what a year.
Last week's webinar discussion, Connecting capabilities in healthcare communications, with the team from Lucid Group, was an interesting reflection on how the MedComms business has been changing over the years and how the pace of change accelerated over the past year. And how we have changed the way we "do" business. It's another good one to stream for a team Lunch and Learn event, to serve as the basis for your own discussions about the coming year.
It may come as a surprise, but MedCommsNetworking.com reaches its 15th birthday in January. Time flies when you're having fun! It's certainly surprised me that I survived this long! It started with a networking event in Oxford. Great fun. Were you there? I had no idea what it would lead to. It's been fascinating to see the MedComms business community evolve, mature and strengthen together.
So in January I'm hoping some of you will celebrate by telling us your #MedComms stories. What were you doing 15 years ago? Maybe you were still at school and yet to discover MedComms. Maybe you were already in the industry, but unaware of MedComms. Maybe you were one of the many who were starting out and have gone on build this global community into what it is today. Why do you work in MedComms? And looking ahead, what excites you most?
I'll work with Storyvine to hopefully allow many of you to tell your stories throughout January. I need some volunteers this month to trial the App. Give me a shout if you'd like to be the first to join in as we prepare to launch the month-long celebration and as always, follow hashtag #MedComms. Let's make some noise together.
Meanwhile, tomorrow the gang's back together. It's traditional now to Meet the Publishers in December and reflect on what's new and what's coming. Thanks as always to the gang: Caroline Halford, Hamish McDougall, Jonathan Patience and Joanne Walker. Everyone's welcome.
And next week is busy.
On Monday we've squeezed in an extra webinar to hear from LINK Health Group about the launch of LINK 360 - a 6-month training program for people new to MedComms, across medical writing, client services and editorial. Please join us. Everyone's welcome.
Then we'll run our extended webinar, on Wednesday, Succeeding in MedComms, despite what life throws at us. Thanks to Karen Alderson, Katia Chrysostomou, Sharon Frost, David Gudgeon, LisaMarie McLane, Christine Oesterling, Mark Palmer, Jacques Tamin, Steven Walker and Angela Young for sharing their experiences.
Oh, and our now traditional End of Year online Huddle for the specialist freelancers who subscribe to the MedComms Workbook is on Thursday. Silly seasonal hats and/or jumpers are a must. In the spirit of the moment, any other freelancers and interested parties are welcome to join us and raise a glass to wish ourselves a good 2022. So, feel free to spread the word.
Of course, there's lots more coming.
Stay well, everyone.
Cheers
