MedComms Networking - 06 September 2022
Hi
So, how was your August? I took a breather. Of sorts. No weekly newsletters. Did anyone notice?
Frankly, I'm not feeling very rested. I spent my time working on our unique new event, Working in and around #MedComms at Heathrow on 19 September 2022. It's simply unlike anything we've seen before in our sector. We'll have to wait until afterwards to reflect on how well it works, and in what ways, but come what may I think we're going to have some fun. And change some lives.
We're expecting more than 400 people to attend the event. And many more can access information online, about MedComms and about the organisations and individuals in our community, by visiting the wealth of content that's freely available at NetworkPharma.careers and the associated web sites.
Please tell any wannabes you know, and follow the action using hashtag #MedComms on your own favourite social media platforms. Join in. The more noise we all make about #MedComms the better for all of us. One thing that hasn't changed over the past few weeks is the high level of recruitment activity. #MedComms is booming!
If you missed the news over the past few weeks, you might be interested in catching up with the following...
we ran a webinar about attracting diverse talent into MedComms with Tobi Ogundipe, Founder and CEO of DIVERSE., an organisation that helps employers hire diverse young talent from a community of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority UK students and graduates
and another webinar about the What and the How of Independent Medical Education with touch Independent Medical Education
we published the new edition of our FirstMedComms careers guide, A writer's role in drug development: a guide to getting started in regulatory medical writing by Debbie Brix Reynolds and supported by Certara Insight
and the new edition of our FirstMedComms careers guide, Ensuring timely dissemination of research: a guide to working as a medical publications professional by John Gonzalez and supported by AMICULUM
and I've had fun recording #MedComms Stories with some of the folks who are joining us at Heathrow, including Jason Gardner (Head of Medical, imc agencies and Pulsar Health), Eleanor Steele (aka the MedComms Mentor), Maureen Reid (Talent Acquisition Partner at Oxford PharmaGenesis), Kathryn White (Freelance Medical Writer) and Vicky Sherwood (Scientific Writing Team Lead at Novartis and Biomed Badass Blogger). You will find them all at NetworkPharma.tv. along with much more.
So, maybe not so much of a breather!
Looking ahead, and beyond the Heathrow event, we'll soon be back to our weekly #MedComms webinars. Will I make it to Christmas? I've already booked most of the dates through to the end of year (we're just looking for someone to join me on 23 November - any ideas?) and we've started booking dates in 2023. We've got some great topics and guests lined up. Details are always kept bang up-to-date at MedCommsNetworking.com.
It's a busy time ahead. Stay well, everyone. Stay safe. Look out for each other.
Cheers
