    MedComms Networking - 05 July 2022

    Hi

Did you see the news last week? The wave of LinkedIn activity? World-leading agencies join forces to create strategic scientific powerhouse, Inizio Medical. Described as "a purpose-built portfolio of world-leading agencies and specialized services, Inizio Medical comprises three global medical communications agency groups, ApotheCom, Ashfield MedComms and Nucleus Global, that will be underpinned by the Specialized Services companies MEDiSTRAVA and MedEvoke." That's one large gathering together of MedComms specialists - 2,000 or more, I believe.

So, this Thursday, 7 July at 15.00 UK time, I'm meeting the leadership team, in a special Extra #MedComms webinar, to hear more about their plans and to discuss how MedComms is evolving. Elaine Ferguson (Group President), Dan Bridges (Global CEO) and Andrew Davidson (Chief People Officer) are on our panel and you're all invited to join us. Please help spread the word and sign yourselves up here.

First, though, in tomorrow's weekly #MedComms webinar at 12.00 midday UK time, Development Directors - sparking innovation and inspiration in medcomms, we'll hear how the Development Directors at McCann Health Medical Communications work within their agencies to help individuals achieve their full potential at Associate level, as part of FuEL (Future Experts and Leaders), and beyond. I'll be joined by Rebecca Douglas (Group Programme Director, Talent), Jo Frost (Group Client Service Development Director), Sarah Lewis (VP, Medical Development Director) and Sarah Thomas (VP, Client Service Development Director). Everyone's welcome.

I can't help but ponder on how MedComms is changing and maturing. There's no doubt MedComms has a bright future, though I'm sure there will be ups and downs for us all.

It's that bright future I want to celebrate and support with our big new #MedComms careers event at Heathrow, 19 September. We have space for more employers to join the main exhibition (it was great to have Syneos Healthcare Communications confirm their participation yesterday) but everyone's welcome to come along and join the fun on the day. Attendance is free of charge for delegates. Please tell any wannabes you know to make a day of it. We'll make it worth their while!

Over the UK Summer time, I'll take a break from the regular Wednesday webinars but, all being well, we'll run a variety of online activities at random times to provide more information and insights into MedComms careers as we build up to the Heathrow event. To ensure you know what's happening read our emails, follow #MedComms on your favourite social media platform and add your thoughts to the conversation. Or contact me directly any time.

Meanwhile, the recording of last week's webinar, Blended learning at Lucid Group, is now freely available at NetworkPharma.tv, along with hundreds more.

If you have any questions about future activities, or suggestions for future topics and speakers, please contact me.

    Stay well everyone.

P.S. If you are freelancing or aspiring to do so, join us if you can in-person next week at Alderley Park on 11 July for Making a success of freelancing in MedComms.

    Cheers
