    MedComms Networking - 29 September 2020

    Hi

Boom! Where's the time gone? Here we go again with the weekly #MedComms webinars. It feels like only yesterday that we finished the last series.

We start tomorrow with another FirstMedCommsJob: Meet the Agencies panel discussion. We'll be joined by Jane Smith (AMICULUM), Rebecca Douglas (Ashfield Healthcare Communications), Karen Kent (Envision Pharma Group), Diane Sutherland (Fishawack Health) and Petula Coutinho (Oxford PharmaGenesis). They'll talk about the different roles within their teams, what they look for in entry-level staff, what training is provided and what are the career prospects. We'll look back on the experiences of recruitment during the pandemic and consider implications for the future. And we'll answer questions from the audience.

Please join us. We've more than 200 signed up already and it's great to see such continued interest in working in MedComms. Everyone's welcome. Please, help spread the word.

We've a great line up of topics and panellists to take us through to the end of what has been a remarkable year. So next week we talk about clarity in medical communications and the week after it's working in regulatory medical writing and then it's open access publishing and so on.

Take an hour once a week, gather your team, eat some cake - then get back to work. Or play. Or sleep. These should all be of interest to everyone working in and around MedComms. Or anyone wanting to work in MedComms. You're all welcome. Wherever in the world you are.

I'm already planning for next year, so if you've ideas for topics or speakers then let me know. Even better, volunteer yourself!

Wherever possible, recordings are always made freely available on the MedComms YouTube channel, or at NetworkPharma.tv.

Importantly, I'm keen to find other organisations or individuals who run their own webinars and - critically - make their recordings freely available. There still doesn't seem to be much out there in MedComms land. If you or someone you know is interested in including relevant videos in the collection at NetworkPharma.tv then please shout. We already have more then 250 videos and it's slowly becoming a useful knowledge resource for the community. But size does count. I want it to be much bigger and I can't do it all myself.

There are lots of specialist topics that could be covered better by others, not me.

Last week, Mark Handforth (Managing Director, 3Sixty Event Consulting) was joined on his webinar by Laurent Clerc (CEO, BMI Systems) who provided a consolidated view on the new French Anti Gift Law with a specific focus on meetings and events. That law is being implemented this week, so if you work with French HCPs you'll need to take note. Mark and Laurent would be delighted to hear your comments and questions. You can watch the video here on NetworkPharma.tv. Enjoy!

Remember, details of all our activities are kept bang up-to-date at www.MedCommsNetworking.com or give me a shout at any time if you've any questions, comments or suggestions.

    Stay safe and well, everyone.

    Cheers
