    WEEKLY COMMENT

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 28 April 2020

    Hi

This week sees the launch of the 3rd annual Healthcare Communications - Global Salary and Insight Survey, developed by Paramount Recruitment and supported by MedComms Networking. Once again, we hope to provide an invaluable insight into the salaries, benefits, views and challenges within the Healthcare Communications Sector. Please join in. Last year there were more than 600 respondents and, of course, we hope to do better this year. Daniel Clifton and Mike Ellingham will present the results at the weekly #MedComms webinar on 17 June.

COMPLETE THE SURVEY HERE (closing date is 25 May)

For reference, the 2019 summary report is freely available here, along with a recording of Daniel and Mike talking through the results.

Talking about those weekly #MedComms webinars, we now have a full line-up for our next series of 10, running every Wednesday at 12.00 UK time from 6 May to 8 July. We kick off next week, talking about Managing others for the first time in MedComms with Jenny Plant and Matt Plant. Please join us. Everyone's welcome. There's no limit to the numbers. Please encourage all relevant others to join us.

The full list of dates, speakers and topics is bang up-to-date, as always, at www.MedCommsNetworking.com and if you miss any then, all being well, we'll post the recordings at NetworkPharma.tv (more than 200 videos now) or you can find them in the MedComms YouTube channel.

Frankly, it feels a little like every man, woman and dog has started producing webinars and podcasts and more online. So, we're somewhat spoilt for choice these days, and that's before we start bingeing on Netflix or settling down to online yoga. It's intriguing - and, I think, heartening - to see so many industry folks doing "stuff", alongside many older hands, and to see the many different styles, formats and platforms.

How can we ever go back from this? Would we want to?

Our next annual Meet the Agencies event for 24 attendees has turned into a 2 hour online session on 18 May and more than 150 people have already registered. It's not the same, but what's not to like? And I don't have to worry about size of room, car parking, catering, special dietary requirements...

Last week, having also transformed our next FirstMedCommsJob workshop for aspiring medical writers into an online workshop in June, we were fully booked within 48 hours. So, now we're running a second workshop, 29-30 June. The programme is primarily designed to help prospective medical writers tackle an agency writing test and will run across two mornings again. Please help spread the word

Jenny Plant, who joins us next week, is running her own webinar tomorrow at 16.00 UK time, How to retain clients through difficult times for agency account managers.

Difficult, yes, but also in some ways exciting times. Stay well, everyone.

Remember, details of all our activities are kept bang up-to-date at www.MedCommsNetworking.com or give me a shout at any time if you've any questions, comments or suggestions.

    Cheers
