    WEEKLY COMMENT

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 12 July 2022

    Hi

It was great fun running another in-person event for the #MedComms freelancers at Alderley Park, yesterday. Thanks to everyone who participated, in particular from the client side, so Ashfield MedComms, Envision Pharma Group, Helios Global Group, Lucid Group and McCann Health Medical Communications. We probably raise more questions at these workshops than we answer, but the open discussion is fascinating and hearing opposing points of view is illuminating and a reminder of how differently people work. And much of the value comes from the casual conversations over coffee and lunch and cake. As far as I can work out nobody ever leaves thinking they wasted their time. Quite the opposite.

But, crikey, it's tiring meeting F2F again!

My Mum always used to say; "a change is as good as a rest!" I'll be honest. I'm exhausted. Many of you are likely the same. It's already been a long year. For me the unrelenting weekly newsletters and webinars along with everything else, have taken their toll. I need to take breather. But I think we finished on a high note last week.

Rebecca Douglas (Group Programme Director, Talent), Jo Frost (Group Client Service Development Director), Sarah Lewis (VP, Medical Development Director) and Sarah Thomas (VP, Client Service Development Director) from McCann Health Medical Communications explained how the Development Directors work within their agencies to help individuals achieve their full potential at Associate level, as part of FuEL (Future Experts and Leaders), and beyond. The recording is now freely available at NetworkPharma.tv, as always.

And it was then a pleasure on Thursday to host a discussion with the leadership team from Inizio Medical, to learn more about the exciting potential of the company for its 2,000+ staff, new recruits, and clients. Inizio Medical agencies include ApotheCom, Ashfield MedComms and Nucleus Global, plus specialized services of MEDiSTRAVA and MedEvoke. Our panellists were Elaine Ferguson (Group President), Dan Bridges (Global CEO) and Andrew Davidson (Chief People Officer). If you missed it, then again you can watch the recording at NetworkPharma.tv.

I'm now planning webinars for the Autumn. Volunteers welcomed!

Over the UK Summer time, I'll take a break from the regular stuff, the newsletters and the Wednesday webinars. But, all being well, we'll run a variety of online activities at random times to provide more information and insights into MedComms careers as we build up to our big new careers event at Heathrow, Working in and around #MedComms, 19 September 2022. Join in. To ensure you know what's happening, please read and share our emails, follow #MedComms on your favourite social media platform and add your thoughts to the conversation. Or contact me directly any time. Details are being kept bang up-to-date at networkpharma.careers.

Please help spread the word and encourage all relevant others to join us. Go #MedComms!

There's lots more being planned, online and onsite.

If you have any questions about future activities, or suggestions for topics and speakers, please contact me.

Stay well, everyone. Stay safe. Look out for each other.

    Cheers
