Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.
MedComms Networking - 09 June 2020
So, what are you doing tomorrow, 10 June 2020 aka #MedComms Day? It's our 9th annual celebration of a Day in the Life of MedComms and this one sure is going to be different for most of us! We're unlikely to hear much about travelling to international conferences, client meetings and Team Away Days. Instead, plenty of online video meetings I'm guessing, and reflections from home-workers across the global community. All being well, we'll start with the sun rising in New Zealand and end with it setting over the west coast of the USA. Who knows what'll happen in between. If the past eight years are anything to go by, it'll be busy.
Once again, I'll post your stories, news, photos, videos and whatever else comes my way from around the world. Please spread the word, point everyone at www.MedCommsDay.com and as always use hashtag #MedComms to embrace LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media platforms
If nothing else, when you wake in the morning, wherever in the world you are, please SHOUT "hooray for #MedComms" or similar on LinkedIn and across your social media accounts. There'll be lots of noise. Lots happening. The more the better.
A year ago, even the most ardent Zoom fans, of which I was one, wouldn't have predicted that online yoga would feature in our #MedComms Day activities, but it will! Kudos to Envision Pharma Group and George Hazel Yoga for arranging a free session for you all at 14.00 UK time. Everyone's welcome. Save this link, turn up on the day and join in. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Brown
Along with what many others have arranged for themselves, here are some more special free events I've arranged for everyone to join:
4th occasional Zoom meeting of New Zealand medical writers (and guests)
At 11.00 New Zealand Standard time, 10 June 2020 (NOTE the time zone!)
Our regular weekly #MedComms Webinar
This week we're talking about Learning and development with AMICULUM
At 12.00 UK time, 10 June 2020 (NOTE the time zone!)
MedComms Wookbook Huddle - open to all freelancers and others
18.00 (wine o'clock) UK time, 10 June 2020 (NOTE the time zone!)
The idea is to see a wave of activity appear throughout the day, as the time zones switch on and switch off.
Meanwhile, our current COVID-19 survey is garnering some fascinating insights into the new working practices. Please join in. There are important discussions to be had here.
We'll report the findings freely at a special, extended #MedComms webinar next week on 17 June, following the presentation of findings 'hot off the press' from the "3rd annual Healthcare Communications Workforce Insight Survey". Both reports should be of significant interest to everyone working in and around MedComms. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Remember, details of all our activities are kept bang up-to-date at www.MedCommsNetworking.com or give me a shout at any time if you've any questions, comments or suggestions.
Stay safe and well, everyone, in these strange times.
