    MedComms Networking - 07 June 2016

    Hi

Here on the cusp of our 5th Annual MedComms Day, when (hopefully) we'll demonstrate the global nature of our business, it's great to see MedComms Networking activity stimulating more activity outside the UK. I've previously announced an afternoon event in Berlin on 7 October, led by Steven Walker of St Gilesmedical. Now let's have a great big shout out for Amy Whereat of Speak the Speech Consulting who's taking the initiative and arranging an informal meeting on 1 July in Paris to discuss how activities might develop in France. If you'd like to be involved register to attend or email Amy on amy.whereat@speakthespeech.fr and help spread the word amongst all relevant others.

As I write this we're fast approaching the start of the 8 June and of #MedComms Day... in New Zealand. If the past four years are anything to go by, it should be busy - and hopefully fun. Frankly, though, I've no idea exactly what will happen or when, over the next 48 hours or so, as we travel through the day across the globe and through the time zones. I'll simply be making it up as I go.

Please don't leave me sitting here with nothing to do! Once again I'll post your stories, news, photos, videos and whatever else comes my way from around the world. Please spread the word, point everyone at www.MedCommsDay.com and as before we'll use hashtag #MedComms to embrace the Twitter experience throughout.

The idea is you all get involved however you like, in your own style, but here are simple suggestions to help catalyse the action:

1 - everyone, when you arrive at your desks, start by adding a Status Update to your Linkedin profile along the lines of "I'm celebrating life in #MedComms today..." and link to the web site at www.MedCommsDay.com

2 - if you're on Twitter please tweet messages through the day ensuring you use the hashtag #MedComms and point people at the web site at www.MedCommsDay.com wherever possible

3 - most importantly, at least once and maybe more often, email me something to post on www.MedCommsDay.com from wherever you are in the world. We want stories, insights, pictures, videos and more.

The idea is to see a wave of activity appearing throughout the day as the time zones switch on and switch off.

Remind yourself what happened last year, the year before, the year before and the year before that at www.MedCommsDay.com and let's make this year bigger, better and bolder.

Importantly, please support our Thunderclap. I need 100 supporters before we hear the Thunder! Liking/sharing/retweeting links about Thunderclap all helps but I need people/organisations to specifically support it to build the numbers to launch the message at 12.00 BST on 8 June.

Any questions anytime, give me a shout. Please, as always, help spread the word and encourage all relevant others to join in.

Have a great #MedComms Day, everyone! If you're at EULAR, though, be careful taking those selfies - have you seen those regulations?!

    Cheers
